Getting to Japan

No matter where you are coming from...Japan is prepared to welcome you.

From nearly any point in the world, there are flights to Japan. The Credit: Nippon Airship Companyprimary arrival point is usually Tokyo, but can be in one of several airport locations throughout the country. There are international airports on the main island of Honshu (Nagoya, Niigata, Osaka, and Tokyo), Kyushu (Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Kumamoto, and Nagasaki), Okinawa (Naha) and Hokkaido (Sapporo).

There are three main airports where you may land in Japan. These are the New Tokyo International Airport, Nagoya Airport, and Kansai International Airport.

New Tokyo International Airport, also known as Narita Airport, is located 37 miles from downtown Tokyo. Non-stop service is available from Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Honolulu, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York (JFK), Newark, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle.

Nagoya International Airport, located 8.7 miles north of Nagoya City, receives non-stop flights from Detroit, New York (JFK), and Honolulu.

Kansai International Airport is situated on a man-made island in southeast Osaka Bay, three miles off the coast and about 37 miles from JR Shin Osaka Station. Non-stop service is available from Chicago, Detroit, Honolulu, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
